AU Instructor Toolkit for Emergency Remote Instruction - Pre-recorded Lecture
Guidance for Instructor Contact
The time length of any pre-recorded video is up to the faculty member. A maximum of 60 minutes per recorded is suggested; consider chunking longer lectures into smaller segments. For this to count as instructor contact, the instructor must provide students a way to ask questions about the content.
Example: "If you have questions about the content, please post to a discussion forum or email me."
Create a Recording with D2L Video Note (maximum 30 minutes)
Option #1:
- Create and insert a video note in D2L course directly in Announcements, Grade Feedback, Content, Discussions, Quizzes.
Option #2:
- Create in D2L Media Library (this will be stored here to be added later as determined by instructor)
- After the recording is in the D2L Media Library, you will need to add it to the D2L page by either:
- Adding video note to D2L course as a link (video will open in a new tab for students to view)
- Embedding video note to D2L course (video will show directly on D2L course page)
