Does an AU Online student have the ability to make accommodation and disability requests?

Yes. Augusta University's Disability Services strives to provide a fair and inclusive educational experience to all students. The primary goal is to ensure that every student has access to the necessary resources and accommodation. This is achieved through the provision of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), assistive technology loans, note-taking services, and test accommodations.

Disability / Accommodation Requests:

At Augusta University, we believe that every student should have equal access to all services and benefits. If a student has a disability and requires accommodations, they must register with Testing and Disability Services (TDS). Students should submit the appropriate documentation and make requests for accommodations as early in the semester as possible since accommodations are not retroactive. For additional information, you can contact TDS at tds@augusta.edu or by telephone at 706-737-1469. All accommodation requests are confidential.

Services Offered:

  • Academic accommodation specific to each student's needs.
  • Services such as assistive technology, alternative formats (e.g., large print, audio textbooks, Braille materials), a testing center for exam accommodations, faculty consultation, and interpreter services are provided.
  • By ensuring all these services and support systems are in place, Augusta University demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for all students.
